Polyamory activism day: London, England. 2015-01-23

Save the date: 11-4. Friday 23rd January 2015. Open University Camden, London, England (map: http://www3.open.ac.uk/contact/maps.aspx?contactid=1)

There have been various projects connected with open non-monogamy in UK in the last few decades: Polyday, OpenCon, a retreat weekend, some books, zines, newsletters, email lists, social media groups, meetups, fora, websites etc. as well as interviews with the press and training for professionals. There are other ideas out there including a camping event or organising an European academic conference on non-monogamies.
A group of us have been meeting to talk about poly and counselling. We’re interested in wider poly communities and projects and thought we could get others together to talk and perhaps develop projects supporting non-monogamies.

We’ll create a meeting space on Friday 23rd January 2015 in London where people interested in making current and future poly projects happen can share ideas, make contacts and we hope revitalise some projects and kick off some new ones. The event itself will be free and open to anyone interested in organising around polyamory and other consensual non-monogamies. We expect mainly people will be from UK and also welcome European collaborators and any visiting poly activist types. The agenda will be decided by the participants and you don’t need to commit to any projects in order to come. We hope this meeting will be good for friendly idea sharing and organising rather than being a purely social space or an introduction to non-monogamy. It is important to us to build a diverse communities and to lower any barriers to participation and combat discrimination.
